Andy Miller

A native of Spartanburg, Andy Miller, a youth advocate, entrepreneur and an educator, has been recognized for his community work.

Andy earned an Associate Degree from Spartanburg Community College and received a certification in Middle Level Education with a minor in Non-Profit Administration from University of South Carolina Upstate. Andy has volunteered and worked in the non-profit sector for more than 10 years focusing his efforts into building up the various communities that he serves. Andy started his career as the Assistant Director and interim Program Director of the Boys and Girls Club of America in 2014. During his 10 -year tenure in the Youth Development profession, Andy has been recognized as a pillar in the community, WNC Youth Advocate of the Year 2023, Evergreen Community Charter School’s Support Educator of the Year, and has been the Tzedek Impact Award recipient of 2023. Andy has served as a community liaison between various school districts in North and South Carolina since 2016. Andy has worked with Building Bridges of Asheville to dismantle and disrupt racism one conversation at a time. Andy has also established a partnership with The United Way of Buncombe County to continue the efforts to help support the BIPOC families in WNC.

Andy currently serves as Evergreen’s Community and Culture Coordinator, as well as the Executive Director of IIEC YOUTH AND TEEN INC. and plans to continue his education in the non-profit sector.

Andy is a former semi-professional basketball player who continues his passion for basketball through coaching AAU basketball as well as coaching on the middle school level.
