Math and Reading Enrichment Clubs

Evergreen will be offering afternoon Math and Reading Enrichment Clubs for third through eighth grade students who need the support of additional attention and instruction outside of classroom time. Students are invited to attend Enrichment Clubs through our school’s Care Team. 

Evergreen’s Care Team is made up of individual classroom teachers, academic support staff, administrative staff, and other specialists, who come together to identify enrichment needs and make a plan to support our students’ growth. Parents who are concerned that their child may need extra support are encouraged to speak with their child’s classroom teacher first.

The Math Club will engage with math in creative ways focusing on topics relevant to promoting success in their current grade level. The students will work collaboratively on projects that build confidence in their math skills as well as developing their individual skills and self-efficacy. This is not a worksheet driven tutoring session! 

The Reading Club will choose texts that capture student interest, learn strategies for comprehending text, and engage in discussions about what they learn from their readings.

Each club is capped at 6 participants. There is no fee to participate and snacks will be provided, thanks to grants provided by generous donors like TD Charitable Foundation and COVID Relief Funding from the State of North Carolina.
