Brooks Coker

Brooks joined the Evergreen community in 2024 and is excited to bring his many years of experience in outdoor education to the classroom. He relocated to Asheville in 2023 from East Tennessee, where he studied, worked, and played in the Great Smokey Mountains. His love for exploring nature with his wife and dog makes the Blue Ridge the perfect place to call their new home. Brooks has worked with kids of all ages through various outdoor ed and recreational programs. Before moving to Asheville, he spent the summer overseeing the middle school program at Ijams Nature Camp in Knoxville, TN. He has dedicated much of his life to serving youth and enjoys helping others achieve long-term goals. As the 8th-grade associate, Brooks is committed to supporting the cohort in achieving their academic goals while challenging them through exciting fieldwork and Expedition Learning.
