My name is Jillian Silvernail and I'm in my fourth fantastic year of teaching 3rd grade. I used to serve as the K-3 AIG Instructor at Evergreen before 3rd grade welcomed me into their community. I grew up in Northern Virginia and graduated with my M.A.T from James Madison University with a focus in African, Asian, and Middle Eastern Studies. Through this, I had incredible opportunities to teach in Ghana and Nicaragua. Post grad school, I taught for 3 years in Florida but my husband and I decided we really missed the seasons and mountains so we came to WNC...and we never want to leave! 2 years ago, we rescued our sassy puppy, Ryelee Mae, and she is the center of our universe! She's a Border Collie and Australian Shepherd mix with TONS of energy, so our hobbies include hiking with Ryelee all over WNC, camping with her, and I also just trained her to go on 3 miles runs with me! Running is my biggest hobby but I also bike, swim, cook, and love reading....if I can get to it before I fall asleep! ;-) Teaching is not only my job but my passion and I'm honored to do this work and be a part of such an inclusive, loving community!
