Hello! My name is Marty Johnson (Mr. Marty). I have the pleasure of being your child’s 2nd grade teacher. Our classroom theme is superheroes! This is my 8th year of teaching and my first year working at Evergreen. I have lived in Asheville for 3 years. Originally, I am from Chicago, Illinois. I got my Bachelors in Elementary Education (K-9) from Trinity Christian College, and my minor was in EC (K-9). I am in a master’s program for being a reading specialist (K-12).

When I am not teaching, I enjoy hiking trails along the Blue Ridge Parkway with my friends,  weekly trivia, yoga, and playing board/card games at Well Played. I have a 14 year old Australian Shepherd named Reece. Please feel free to reach out to me via email if you ever have any questions.
