Thank you Evergreen, for your grace and flexibility today when we lost power and called for an early dismissal. Here are a few shots of classes carrying on with the conclusion of morning lessons thanks to our outdoor classroom spaces and today’s mild weather!
Grandfriends’ Day - February 14th
Each year Evergreen hosts a Grandfriends’ Day. Grandfriends’ Day is an open house for Grandparents and Family Friends who would be interested in coming to get to know more about the school and spend some time with your student on campus. Invites went out at the start of the year. If you didn ‘t get your folks registered, you can forward the RSVP Link below to invite guests to join in!
If your guests can not join us this year, send them a link to our Grandfriends Page which has a slideshow of moments from this year and other ways to engage!
This year Grandfriends can add a greeting for their favorite Evergreen student! Send it little love their way with a customized Valentine poster.
We will be meeting in the gym at 10am for coffee and snacks before guests make their way to classrooms or on a tour.

Girls on the Run is a program for 3rd-5th grade girls to develop love of running!

WELOF & You
Our "We Love Our Families" (WeLOF) event is coming together and we are so excited to share the lineup of presenters we have put together for our families!
We are welcoming leaders from local organizations like SPARC Foundation, Building Bridges, and Open Doors. Organizations that are driving diversity, equity, and inclusion work in the city of Asheville. Come be inspired, and see how you can join in sparking change, building bridges, opening doors across Asheville!
Ray Hemachandra will be speaking about the joy of parenting a child with a disability. Ray is "a trailblazing change agent, author, activist, speaker, and business consultant with a vibrant, multicultural heritage that fuels his drive for social change." --from his Tzedek Pauli Murray Brilliance Award write up.
Brittany Cutshaw (from the Exceptional Children’s Assistance Center ECAC) will be speaking about parent rights’ regarding students with disabilities, and how to advocate for your child.
Our Evergreen Counseling Team: Hunter Holland and Annie Mast will be there to answer your questions and provide information about guidance available at our school as well as connecting you with local mental health resources available to our community.
Your children are welcome to attend. Harry Potter themed childcare will be available in the gym along with pizza and veggies.
The event runs from 6-8pm on Tuesday, February 18th. We hope to see you there!
February Community Builders Event: Game Night!
Bring your favorite games and meet with other Evergreen families in the Community room of East Asheville Library.

Let your friends and neighbors know: Open Enrollment runs through March 31st. The lottery will be drawn on April 8th!
There is a Virtual Information Session happening on February 27th. Prospective Families can connect with school leaders, learn more about Evergreen, and ask questions. They can register for this session, or enroll in the lottery on our website:

Interested in joining the Evergreen Board of Directors? Applications are now open!
First year Board members typically give 10 hours a month of service. As Board members move into leadership roles in the second and third years, Board members give about 15-25 hours a month.
To be considered for 2025-2026 recruitment season, please submit your application by February 28, 2025.
Board applications remain active for two consecutive academic years. For example, applications submitted in January 2025 are eligible for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 year. After that, a new application must be submitted to be considered.

Pisgah Legal Services continues to assist individuals/households and nonprofits with disaster recovery issues. You have likely seen that the FEMA application deadline has been extended to February 6. PLS can assist with:
Legal help with FEMA appeals and private insurance appeals for individuals and households,
Help for nonprofits with FEMA Public Assistance applications,
Legal assistance for renters and homeowners impacted by Helene,
Legal assistance on consumer issues.

Do you use aluminum cans in life? Do you want to help support our Adventure Program? If the answer is yes to both then we’re looking for you. Our Cans for Climbing program is a major fundraiser for Evergreen’s Adventure Program that is easy to participate in. All you need to do is drop off any aluminum cans you have in the Cans for Climbing Trailer located right by our buses.
