Hi Evergreen families,
Somehow it’s May, and we’ve officially reached the point in the year where time just goes faster and faster until summer arrives in a whirlwind of end of year celebrations, bittersweet graduation ceremonies, staff transitions, and vacation excitement.
Our Earth Day celebration this week was a joyful celebration of community, learning, and service and we have so much gratitude to our Environmental Education program coordinator, Marin Leroy, for the many hours she spent planning and overseeing the day. If you did not get a chance to volunteer, check out the gallery below for llamas, flowers, and mud!
Looking forward in this month, we have a flurry of events: middle school’s Talent Show, Grad Walk, our Annual Meeting on May 16th, end of year assessments and standardized tests among many other things.
Did you know that you can add the Evergreen calendar to your phone with a couple of really simple steps? Just think of all the time you’ll save not having to add Evergreen events to your calendar! Here’s a quick tutorial: from your phone (or desktop, if you prefer), go to the calendars page of the Evergreen website. Check out the google calendar, and when you see the tiny +Google Calendar button on the bottom right of the calendar, click it. It will open your calendar app and prompt you to add the calendar. And from then on, you’ll have Evergreen events at your fingertips without the extra work of adding them!
Switching gears for a minute, I do want to raise awareness that North Carolina’s general assembly has convened for their short session of the year. More than ever, I hope you will take some time to learn about bills that are being discussed and use your voices to advocate for funding for public education and teachers in North Carolina.
