Dine Out For Evergreen

A huge thank you to Evergreen parent and Universal Joint GM, Mike Kovitch, for arranging a fundraiser for Evergreen March 21-23.

If you haven’t experienced the U Joint yet, now’s the time! They’ve been serving fantastic create your own burgers, along with salads and sandwiches (and don’t forget those tater tots!!) since opening in 2009.

It’s a great dog friendly neighborhood hub in West Asheville with a fantastic outdoor patio. So far, the weather is looking great. So, stop by for lunch or dinner (or both) March 21-23 for great food for a great cause.

Let’s celebrate the first weekend of Spring by playing and dining in walkable West Asheville over the course of the weekend!

Saturday morning 10-Noon families are invited to bring out your bikes or your lawn games, and come let the kids play at Malvern Hills Park before heading over to the UJ for Lunch!

Sunday morning from 10-Noon families are invited to West Asheville’s Gassaway Park for a pick-up Kickball Game, or to hang at the playground! Gassaway Park is just at the end of Vermont Ave, so it’s super walkable to The UJ and the rest of West AVL.

Join a meetup, or simply stop by The UJ March 21st-23rd to support the school and an Evergreen Community Business during this delicious fundraiser!

Tourney of the Hoops Spring Fundraiser

In just 2 weeks, we’ll kick off our Tourney of the Hoops Fundraiser and a full school Spirit Week on March 24th! Our goal is to raise $50,000. This money helps our school reconcile the actual cost of educating our children in a meaningful way versus what we receive from local, state, and federal bureaus to do so, and strengthens our school community.

This year, fundraising is more critical than ever to provide learning resources and fund our school budget. If your family is not in the position to financially support the school, that’s ok. Evergreen Families can actually support our school by also SHARING about our fundraiser with friends and family online.

Here’s what all students can get excited about:

Spirit Week! Middle School is planning an exciting Spirit Week that maximizes fun while minimizing stress for parents by choosing themes that do NOT necessitate purchases/elaborate preparations.

Game Day! Grades 3-8 will be playing Capture The Hoops, a unique Evergreen tradition, Grades K-2 will be enjoying a Hoopy Loopy Dance Party in the Gym! This high-energy event will give our students a much needed boost of fun!

Planting a class tree! Thanks to Asheville Greenworks, grade levels that meet their grade level goal of $5500 will have a tree planted on campus in their honor. These trees are the first step in restoring the precious canopy that was lost here on campus, and in our region.

Western North Carolina lost so much tree cover due to Helene. This video is a great reminder of what makes our region so special and what is at stake due to this massive loss of habitat.
